Feb 19th 2006 Right sill
Spent most of January in Germany, but managed to visit UK to collect 25 kilo's of parts, had fun at the airport security checks! Also found a great deal on some wheels and tyres in USA at www.gbcarparts.com -- he has mini parts at reasonable prices and the service was great. Once home finished stripping the car, removed subframes and got it down to the bare shell. I had spent hours looking at mini rotisseries, in the end 2 cushions work fine! I was surprised how light this shell is, and had no troulble handling it myself. once on its side sorted the right side. big floor patch at the back, bigger one at the rear and 2 or 3 other patches to door surround and rear quarter panel. luckily the jacking point was OK. Welding started rough but is getting better, the best thing I did was put my reading glasses on!! once I could see clearly it went much better... Before fitting the sill itself I painted the inside, some will burn off but its better than nothing. I'll get some waxoyl in there later.
